Abstract :
The separation of passenger and freight traffic is essential for the design of transportation products to meet increasing railway transportation demands in China. In this paper, the railway transportation in China by taking into the consideration of both the capacity and demand has been studied, and it is essential to have more regular trains to meet the transportation demands. Then the ideas for designing transportation products is proposed and the organization of three types of typical regular trains have been discussed, including inter-city regular trains, networking and circling regular trains and transfer regular trains. After those discussions, a numerical experiment for the organization of networking and circling regular trains is presented. At last, conclusion is drawn and suggestion for further research is proposed.
