Abstract
Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) is a transport protocol developed by the IETF SIGTRAN working group as part of an architecture to provide for reliable and timely delivery of telephony signaling (SS7) information on top of IP. Extensive research on SCTP has been carried out at Karlstad University with partners within the project “Reliable and Secure Communication in SCTP”. This paper surveys some of the key results from this project and provides pointers to further reading in the addressed areas.
