Abstract
A major issue in advanced system design is the estimation of a cost factor of reliability for dynamically complex networks that handle large system inventories. This paper presents a case study in large-scale network optimization and in implementing strategies to reduce capital expenses. The network studied dynamically changes over ´time´ and ´space´ using virtual storage media located inside the system. The system consists of one server and several intranet nodes, which are simulated using agent based modeling capability to ensure proper operation. Data that have been used in this network is transferred to the nodes that work as host computers. This case study seeks to optimize the transfer of storage to reduce costs while maximizing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
