Abstract :
Spatial clustering is frequently used in Spatial Data Mining. Spatial clustering methods in presently available literature have obvious limitations in solving spatial clustering problems. On the basis of comparing and analyzing the capability of each spatial clustering method, a new one based on field model is put forward according to the particularity of spatial clustering (complexity in cluster shape and multi-scale-property in cluster structure), so as to solve all kinds of problems of presently spatial clustering research which organizes data with object model and represents continuous space with discrete entities, and make it be adapted to representation of complicated spatial clustering structure.
