Abstract :
With the increasing wind power penetration, the wind farms are directly influencing the power systems. Therefore, analysis of wind power dynamics has become a very important issue, which justifies the need of a detailed dynamic model of wind power generation system. This paper approaches towards the study on the effect of wind speed variations and machine inertia constants on transient during initialization, average output power and dynamic behaviour of the pitch angle controller and wind turbine protection system using a detailed dynamic model of a Variable Speed Wind Turbine (VSWT) with Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG).
