Abstract
Unrestrainted child occupants are in great danger of traffic injuries. Accident reconstruction is an effective method to study the causes of child occupant injuries in traffic accident. On the basis of “mean acceleration method”, a typical traffic accident with child occupant is simulated by PC-Crash and MADYMO. Child occupant movements and injury risks during the impact are well performed. A qualitative analysis on the causes of child occupant injuries in this accident is carried out and described in this paper.
