Abstract :
Variable-pitch cone worms, which are used in the plasticizing systems of extruding presses, are characterized by a complex geometry and variability of all geometrical parameters over the worm length. This creates specific engineering and metrological problems in the process of their execution. A developed computer program enables the determination of the positioning of a worm machining cutter and clearance distribution in the system of two mating worms at the stage of worm designing.
