Abstract
The correct estimated operating cost is a critical factor to determine and choose a heating and air conditioning system. Because thermal load is the base of calculation of operating cost, so the causes, features and influencing factors of different loads were analyzed and classified. A new estimating method of annual cost was given, it was on the basis of standard mean area load index and correction factors. The conclusions indicated that improving energy efficiency and reducing fuel price was the route to decrease operating cost. An example calculation proved that this method has a high accuracy.
