  • Abstract
    Established in this paper is a numerical simulation based design concept for engine valve train. This is realized by combining traditional design theory and advanced simulation technologies: i.e. the kinematics analysis, dynamics analysis, engine gas exchange process optimization, finite element analysis of the camshaft, fatigue analysis, as well as the simulation study of influences on engine´s noise and vibration of valve train design. The procedure and flow charts to realize this innovative CAD/CAE integration concept are also discussed in detail. This research provides useful guidance for advanced design approach of engine valve train.
