Abstract
This paper presents the topologies and characteristics in current Peer-to-Peer networks (P2P), points out some advantages and disadvantages of P2P approaches, analyzes the threats that the P2Ps face. This analysis will help people understand the potential benefits and disadvantages of P2P in the research community and industry, and improve it further.
