Abstract :
In this paper, it is shown that the loop seal operation status in circulating fluidized beds, exhibits three different types of flow characteristics, dependent on the solids´ fluidized state in the recycle chamber and standpipe. These types of flow characteristics are defined as: (a) Non-operation, (b) Operation with the solids height in the standpipe, (c) Operation without the solids height in the standpipe. The key pressures in loop seal can indicate these different operation statuses.
