Abstract :
Impinging air jets are known as a method of achieving particularly high heat transfer coefficients and are employed in many applications including the cooling of strip continuous production process. Numerical simulation of a cooler and an array of slot nozzles impinging gas-jet has been performed through the Fluent software. The simulation results reveal the characteristics of flow field and temperature field. Correlation between pressure and flow of the cooler is obtained through simulation by different velocity of flow. The results indicates the adoption of Fluent software to carry out numerical simulation can improve the accuracy of the cooler and slot nozzle design and provides a theories analysis foundation for the engineering, design and application.
