Abstract :
This paper presents the framework for performance evaluation of DAVINCI Non-Binary LDPC codes at the system level. Performance evaluation and comparison is conducted using WiMAX IEEE 802.16m system level simulator. Compared to their rival advanced coding schemes, such as WiMAX IEEE 802.16m Convolutional Turbo Codes, DAVINCI codes are shown to achieve a small gain (nearly 5% in average) in overall system performance. This stresses the need to design tailored innovative non-binary link level technologies for a significant aggregate gain in overall system performance compared to conventional binary technology.
