Abstract :
The design of absorption-free beamformers using neural networks is investigated. The phase delays for an array of sensors are calculated so that the beam can be steered or split. The advantages of neural networks over the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm for real-time computation are shown. The computation times for the neural network are substantially less than for the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm
