  • Abstract
We present a digital image processing based approach for the automatic identification and analysis of moving objects (primarily people) within monochrome video images. Object motion is analysed by algorithms with improved robustness to noise. The work overhead of a human operator is reduced as the system can direct attention to objects assessed to pose a threat to the physical security of a protected area. The methods used are described along with the results obtained
