Abstract :
The Kobe area in Hyogo Prefecture of Japan was struck by an earthquake on Jan. 17, 1995 causing 5,500 fatalities. This earthquake was designated as “the Southern Hyogo Earthquake of 1995”. Based on our review of the Earthquake, we report (1) prediction of future seismic wave attacks and (2) the distinction between seismic waves and other approaching objects
