Abstract
This paper presents a novel semi-lumped active notch filter that has been designed under high constraints of cost, performance and size. The filter comprises lumped elements, interconnecting transmission lines and an active capacitance circuit. The aim of this work is to reduce at the same time the filter size and the insertion loss, while keeping a high notch depth. The proposed concept is applied to the design of a filter in the upper UHF band, using a very low-cost FR4-based substrate.
