Abstract :
Signals for the next generation communication system have a large PAPR and wideband to handle large data using a spectrum efficient modulation scheme. The PAs should amplify the signal without any significant distortion, but still with high efficiency. Also, flexible transmitters with multimode and multiband capability are inevitable to handle the evolving various wireless communication systems. To meet the stringent requirements, digitally enhanced linear power amplifier receives a lot of attention because of the digital flexibility and capability. In this talk, we will introduce the key architectures in this area, sigma-delta digitized polar transmitter, ET technique for multimode operation, and Class-S Power Amplifier for digitized signal amplification. It will cover the basic concepts of the architectures and current research status.
