Abstract :
A low power CMOS LC Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) with body-biasing and Q-enhancement techniques is presented. This circuit was taped out by TSMC 0.18um 1P6M process. The measured result of the VCO exhibits a tuning range of 9.1% from 4.99GHz to 5.43GHz at the supply voltage of 1V. The power consumption of the core circuit, output power and figure of merit (FOM) are 3mW, -1.06dBm and -192.4dBc/Hz. The phase noise is -122.7dBc/Hz@1MHz at the operation frequency of 5.27GHz.
