Abstract :
The paper deals with electromagnetic compatibility issues of the power line communication (PLC) technology. Originally developed mathematical model is based on the wire antenna theory and the related thin wire approximation. The proposed model accounts for the conductor sag witch represents substantial contribution when compared to the present models limited to the straight wire geometries. The resulting set of integral equations is solved by the means of the Galerkin Bubnov weak formulation of the boundary element method. Numerical results for the current distribution, radiated electric and magnetic field are obtained for a number of frequencies in the frequency range up to 30 MHz. Maximum levels of the calculated electric field are compared to the limits defined by the standard for the disturbances caused by information technology equipment.
