Abstract
Fast Lumped Element Network (LEN) based thermal modeling for power converters is presented. Such an approach is developed in the MATLAB-Simulink ambient by the PLECS tool, to obtain an unique model including both electrical and thermal dynamics, which can be useful in determining the entire system behavior at an early design stage. Its use applied to a simple power converter is shown as an example. Comparison with FEM analysis is presented.
