Abstract :
The design of a rectifier with almost sinusoidal input currents is discussed. The approach is based on a previously developed power converter modeling methodology relying on switched topologies. Using this method we could directly get a state vector belonging to the steady-state and finally calculate the Fourier series coefficients of the line currents. In this way the performances of the rectifier from the total harmonic distortions as well as power factor points of view could be easily evaluated and the most convenient design solution adopted.
