Abstract :
The advent of Internet multimedia has stimulated the development of several advanced audio and video compression technologies. Many radio stations have Webcasting activities, either for downloading or live streaming. To this end we carry out some tests on several low bit-rate audio codecs that are now available on the commercial Internet market. This article gives the results of some subjective listening tests with different type of typical broadcast material performed at bit rates which are suitable for a 28.8Kbps modem, 1 B-channel and dual ISDN with four different Internet radio audio coding systems.
