Abstract :
The floorplan decides the optimum layout of individual components in VLSI design process and it needs intelligence to be in-built in the process. It allows knowledge of design process to be abstracted and grouped to form domains, which are distinct entities providing specialized design services. It allows VLSI design processes to be realized by integrating a set of domain that offers integrated design services as a whole. In this paper, we provide a scheme of how floorplan design process based on the agent framework and its synthesis to undertake design processes using multi-agent systems. The multi agent framework approach employs a set of cooperative knowledge sources involved in design process at various stages of VLSI design, interacting through common agent panel architecture. Conceptual agent model based architecture is introduced to manage knowledge associated with floor planning in VLSI design.
