Abstract :
We present ultra-wideband coplanar-microstrip transitions studied both experimentally and by numerical simulations. They are very useful for characterizing and connectorizing microwave photonic devices realized from materials in thin film and driving by microstrip line, such as very promising electro-optic modulators based on polymer. Built on BCB polymer, coplanar-microstrip back-to-back transitions present a bandwidth over 70 GHz while the bandwidth of coplanar connector-microstrip back-to-back transitions can covers the range from DC to 30 GHz.
