Abstract :
Monitoring data can be collected from various types of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. In the field of emergency medicine, monitoring is limited to significant vital parameters that can be measured noninvasive and fast (electrocardiogram, noninvasive blood pressure, pulse oximetry). During transportation of intensive care unit (ICU) patients data from multiple sources must be monitored and documented. Because of the usually critical condition of the patients, a high frequency of measurement is required. Many of the presently available mobile medical devices permit collection and storage of acquised data, but only transfer of the information to a patient data management system provides further use of these data.
