Abstract :
Intracranial pressure (ICP) was indirectly measured without invasion by subcutaneously implanting ventricle-peritoneal shunt system to which an internal dome was connected. ICP was estimated from the second fluctuation point on the external pressure change which caused by up- and downward movement of pusher dome on the skin. We have designed an automatic ICP monitoring system using this method and have confirmed the accuracy. Through the dog experiment, we evaluated the precision of the system. The error range was within about 3 cm H2O.
