Abstract :
Chemical Sensors for intravascular monitoring have been designed and tested in vitro and in vivo. Several polymer materials have been used to form the sensor membranes, and the properties of these ultimately determine the long term sensor performance. However, the biocompatibility of any supporting catheter is as important, if not more important, than the biocompatibility of the membrane.
