Abstract :
This paper presents the effects of weak (environmental range) DC magnetic fields (0-200 μT) on myosin light chain phosphorylation in a cell-free system. The system is Ca2+-calmodulin dependent, providing a well established ion-binding mechanism. The results show that small DC magnetic field variations (10 μT) are sufficient to alter the rate of myosin phosphorylation.
