Abstract :
Cardiac action potential propagation in a nonuniformly anisotropie excitable medium was studied using a finite element model based on the Fitzhugh-Nagumo equations. Wavefront curvature caused by the nonuniform axis of anisotropy lead to unidirectional block of the wave.
