Abstract :
Transoesophageal electroventilation produced greater tidal volumes at voltages > 50V than transchest electroventilation. Parameters of blood gas exchange were stable for a 6 minute period of electroventilation. The optimum stimulation pulse frequency was 40 Hz. Stimulated tidal volumes fell rapidly following the induction of ventricular fibrillation.
