Abstract :
An improved noninvasive electrical impedance finger cuff was designed to measure the finger artery compliance (Ca = ΔV/ΔP) and the volume elastic modulus (Ev = Ya/Ca), where AV — pulsatile volume change; ΔV = pulse pressure; Va-mean arterial volume. Voluntary cardio-respiratory synchronization (VCRS) and stepwise cuff pressure release techniques were used to obtain the finger artery compliances after hand immersion at temperatures of 20°C5 30°C and 40°C, As a result, the finger artery compliance Ca increased as the temperature increased, whereas its elasticity Ev remained relatively constant.
