Abstract :
The hybrid system SHADE, composed both of a logic module and a connectionist module, is briefly described in this paper. This system is used for computer-aided diagnosis in electromyography. The benefits of combining neural networks and classical expert systems are first presented. SHADE´S field of application and its architecture are then described. Trends of the hybrid approach in electromyography are also commented on.
