Abstract :
This paper discusses the application of Laplace mapping to the generation of brick finite element mesh of a realistic inhomogeneous human torso containing lungs, blood cavities and skeletal muscle. In this approach the mesh in the human torso is constructed by mapping a mesh generated in a domain of regular geometry into the torso. This mesh generation procedure is fully automatic and the mesh generated in such a way conforms to the torso geometry.
