Abstract :
Electrochemical methods were used to characterize four types of Ir with respect to their geometries and the quality or the seal at the metal-insulator unction. AU the electrodes exhibited edge defects at the seal. For two types of ultramicroelectrodes, the areas based on electrochemical processes controlled by diffuslonal mass transport In the slow me domain were comparable to the geometric areas.
