Abstract
With over two years experience in the support of a busy endoscopy unit the authors have gathered important information which brings into question the supplier recommendations for set up and calibration of video endoscopic systems . Errors in colour rendition and resolution due to electronic drift, subjective set up, user errors and variation between different imaging systems suggest the need for quality assurance procedures and the development of a set of standards.
