            Abstract :
A 520K element finite difference model of the thorax was developed from ECG gated MRIs. A C++ computer program was developed and run on an IBM compatible 486–40 MHz computer that takes 22.5 hours for 250 iterations. This converges to an impedance values within 04% of the value obtained in 500 iterations. This development demonstrates the successful use of a PC to solve large finite difference problems.
