            Abstract : 
The classical bidomain model of cardiac tissue is extended by introducing a periodic intracellular conductivity to represent the junctional resistances between abutting myocytes. The response of a finite two-dimensional "periodic"-bidomain sheet of cells to a current stimulus is examined under steady-state condidtions.
