Abstract :
ARDS is an acute pulmonary disorder that occurs frequently in mechanically ventilated patients in Intensive Care. Lung sounds were recorded from pigs, in which ARDS status was induced via lung lavage. After preprocessing with an adaptive filter for ECG based heart sound cancellation, the lung sounds were characterized via autoregressive (AR) models. Spectral features were investigated for their discrimination potential for ARDS status.
