Abstract :
A concurrent model of the basilar membrane (BM) using the Occam programming language is presented. The BM is represented by the concatenation of independent electrical sections, each simulating the physiological activity of different elemental sections of the membrane. The structure of the concurrent model is largely derived from the electrical indicating potential design benefits for more complex models.
