Abstract :
In this study, the electrical and dielectric properties of wet human cortical bone from a distal tibia were examined as a function of frequency and direction. The specific capacitance was highly frequency dependent while the resistivity was only slightly frequency dependent. Although the resistivity and specific capacitance was different for each direction (axial, circumferential, and radial) there was a correlation found between the axial and the two transverse directions.
