Abstract
Many problems arising in the course of endoscopic operations are caused by an unsufficient ergonomic work system design. Results from the analysis of 14 laparoscopic operations are discussed. As one approach for an ergonomic optimization and new conceptional design of a treatment-unit for Minimal-Invasive Surgery, results of an investigation of the influence of binocular stereovideo-endoscopic view on the surgeons dexterity and sense of threedimensional orientation are presented.
