  • Abstract
    We present a neural architecture that models the visual processing functionality of cortical cells. Taking into account intracortical processing, we analyze the properties of both simple and complex cells. For simple cells, a linear model is developed to derive their equivalent receptive fields. For complex cells, simulations are presented characterizing how they perform in texture discrimination.
