Abstract
We have recently developed a Monte Carlo model that simulates the behavior of a PET scanner. The model takes into account the characteristics of the source, interplane collimators, scintillation crystals, photomultiplier tubes, and coincidence detection schemes. We have used this model to study the performance of the CTI-931 PET scanner and have compared the results of the simulation with experimental measurements.
