Abstract
Input and radiation characteristics of compact circularly-polarized (CP) patch antenna with bent slots using in the microsatellite formation flying is analyzed by the method of moments (MoM) in this paper. Firstly, the CP antenna with finite ground plane is simulated by the MoM based on the Schaubert-Wilton-Glisson (SWG) basis function. Then effects of several antenna design parameters, including bent-slot length, bent-slot width, patch length, corner width, and feeding point position, on reflection coefficient and radiation pattern are studied. Finally, the performance of this antenna is compared with the conventional one.
