Abstract :
This paper presents simulated and measured results for an optically controlled switchable microstrip filter. When activated by laser light, the filter changes from a bandstop to a bandpass filter in the GSM1800 frequency range. Switching is achieved using a high-resistivity photoconducting Silicon die. Filter efficiency is discussed using power losses as measurement criteria.
