Abstract
The design of a beam-forming network (BFN) for multibeam-steerable antenna array using Coherently Radiating Periodic Structures (CORPS) in cellular mobile communication systems is presented. In this work, CORPS technology as a BFN is introduced in cellular systems. The CORPS-BFN proposed improves the performance over commonly used feeding networks used on mobile systems. The feeding ports of the network design are optimized using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. A 2-beam design configuration of CORPS-BFN for multibeam-steerable linear array on a cellular scenario is proposed and analyzed. Simulation results show the advantages of use CORPS-BFN on a cellular mobile scenario based on the array factor response.
