  • Abstract
Satellite broadcasting in the 21-GHz band is expected to transmit large-capacity signals. However, this band suffers from severe fading due to rain and so on. In this regards, we have proposed a reconfigurable antenna system to exploit the limited resources because of its ability to control radiation pattern for fading mitigation. We have measured the rain attenuation in the 12-Ghz band in Tokyo. This paper describes a simulation of outage for satellite broadcasting configuring dynamic controlled radiation pattern by reconfigurable antenna using the measured rain attenuation scaled up to 21-GHz band.
