Abstract :
In this paper, a novel phaseless-measurement method is proposed to measure complex element fields for phased array calibrations. In general phased arrays, an element field in one phase shift is different from the other ones because phase shifters, which are usually digital ones, have some transmitting errors at every phase shift. The proposed method can determine a complex element field at every phase shift. It can be attained by utilizing higher-order Fourier coefficients of one array power response measured in the conventional REV method. Measurement simulations were carried out with including some transmitting errors of phase shifters and validated the proposed method. The proposed method can contribute to more accurate beam forming with phased arrays.
