Abstract :
This paper deals with the diffraction of an electric polarized plane wave normally impacting on a lossless dielectric wedge having obtuse apex angle and arbitrary dielectric permittivity. The approach used here exploits a Physical Optics approximation for the electric and magnetic equivalent surface currents in the scattering integrals related to the inner region of the wedge and the surrounding space. The proposed solutions give rise to field levels in good agreement with Finite Difference Time Domain data.
